Northeast Development Foundation
Development and North East India seems to provide a contrasting image. One of the strategic regions of India with eight vibrant states with each having distinct social, cultural, economic indicators, the region is in constant need of innovative and sustainable solutions to address development and governance challenges. We at North East Development Foundation is making small efforts to contribute towards an enabling development and good governance environment in the region across diverse sectors by following a multi-stakeholder based approach. North East Development Foundation, a not-for-profit entity, since 2006, is working towards finding sustainable solutions to bridge development and digital divide in North East India. Since 2006 the efforts have been towards developing capacities among youths and women to address immediate and long term sustainable needs.

Digital North East
In consonance with the ‘Digital India’ programme initiative of the Government of India as approved on August 20, 2014, the North East Development Foundation (NEDF) and its partner consortium has launched the ‘Digital North East’ (DNE) initiative. The objective is to promote, advocate, and support the ‘Digital India’ thrust in North East India. The DNE initiative seeks to engage stakeholders in Information Communication Technology (ICT) for development and good governance. It seeks to advocate and support efforts of the state governments in North East India as well as efforts of industry, civil society, academic institutions and others towards digital inclusion in the region. This initiative has been aligned with the ‘eNorth East’ knowledge network initiative (http://enortheast.in) and state level focused programmes.
